Gijs won the first round of the challenger in St. Tropez over Matghias Bourgue. The 6-2 6-2 win does not really reflect that it was a difficult match for Gijs as Bourgue was a tough opponent.

Subsequently there was a lot of rain and delays and other matches were not recorded.

Gijs won the second match against Mark Lajal with 7-5 6-1 but lost the third match against Radu Albot with 3-6 6-3 2-6 in a very tight match.
